Rosie graduated from the prestigious British School of Osteopathy in London, with a Masters in Osteopathy. She worked in the U.K. before moving to Sydney five years ago and we are pleased that she has brought her experience with her to Balmain.
Rosie is a friendly and warm practitioner who loves getting to know her patients, as well as what is causing their aches and pains. People come to see her for a myriad of issues ranging from back and neck pain, to shoulder, knee and ankle conditions, or simply to alleviate stress and tension and help to improve their posture.
Rosie works with a broad spectrum of scientifically based methods to maximize the benefits for each patient. She loves to help educate all ages on lifestyle and nutrition tips, to help change your life for the better and to maintain this standard for your future.
Rosie is trained in the following treatment modalities:
- Osteopathic techniques – including soft tissue massage, stretching, muscle energy technique, joint mobilisation and when appropriate joint manipulation.
- Trigger point dry needling – a therapy that uses fine filament acupuncture needles to address dysfunction of the neuromuscular system. A trigger point is a hyperirritable band of muscle and connective tissue which can generate pain, and in simple terms dry needling is a method that can help to release this muscle tightness.
- Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex Therapy (P-DTR ) – a unique neurological therapy based on neurology, biomechanics, neurophysiology, and anatomy. Nerves are responsible for sending information to our brain to convey sensations, however sometimes nerves can become overstimulated and fire excessively. This may result in unnecessary pain, irritability or dysfunction. P-DTR Therapy helps to identify such imbalances and works to rebalance these messages sent via the nerves toward a normal state. Rosie enjoys using P-DTR because it is a well-tolerated modality and she finds that it helps to consolidate improvements obtained in treatment.
- Low Level Laser Therapy – Rosie has received training and accreditation in Laser Therapy with Meditech International, the creators of Bioflex Laser who provide training and education in the modality. Laser therapy uses a therapeutic spectrum of light to target inflammation, pain and injury.
